First today is Summer's Birthday...her first. I wish N and I were with her as she continues to grow, learn and move. Move is what she does best. She has clothes and books coming her way which after watching her unload her clothes cabinet in fine fashion new bright things will be great.
Next up I have teamed up with one of my scrapping friends Betty to see if justabitofpaper@etsy.com can make a go of it. We had a good Christmas with tags, bags, and a few cards. Stop by if you are curious or have some tagging needs. Here is a card going in the shop. It is a set of 2 and of course is some PTI goodness. The stamp and die card are PTI. Have a great day.

Thinking about the feast and the dishes
I love Thanksgiving! The food, the people, the table settings, the great weather here. Usually we set the table with the china that was once my Mothers. I love the elegant look and the colors. More about that in another post as I need to make some "packaging" item for that post yet.
Today I decided that I would show off the plaid bags a bit and share a little idea for those who use paper goods and want to "fancy" them up and also something that you could do ahead of time for your guests to make silverware easier at the beginning or the end of the buffet.
I choose purple bag (7x5 just in case you want to know)....yes purple but I love the color with the fall leaves I think it sets them off more. I added in a straw of course just in case you have children at your Thanksgiving feast. Next is 3 colors of bakers twine with NO knot for the center. I just wrapped some twine single strand around the loops. Last the perfect tag to let everyone know that you are thankful for them.
As usual you will find the plaid bags and the bakers twine in my etsy shop at: talkingtwineandtrim@etsy.com The stamp is from Papertrey ink and the leaf die cut is a Tim Holtz die cut. Hope someone sees this post with all of the photos.

jewelry
small soaps
candies
necklaces
A key
Stop the justabitofpaper@etsy.com and pick some up of these or make some for yourself and embellish away.

Oct 25th and what are you doing today?
Yep I love the 25th of each month. I participate in the PTI aka Papertrey Ink Blog hop and love it. This months challenge was a fun one with pick and choose your favorite color combo and make a Christmas card using those colors. They were all non traditional. I end up making two cards but my favorite one is here.
Now being a knitter how could I NOT do these colors. Oh and check back here in the next few days to see the gorgeous hat that is coming off my needles today. Not the the colors above. Anyway here is my take on the color challenge using many PTI products. The sentiment, the pattern paper, and the mittens are all PTI.
Thanks for stopping by.

Is it that time of year yet????
Well this is the first it has felt like fall so a little card to celebrate. This is using the kit from http://www.scrapbookdoodle.com/2012kithallow.html and the paper is super yummy. I was a little put off by doing Halloween with no little spooky kidos of my own to take pics of the last few years so a few cards and few altered items, a couple of layouts and one banner. Love the back side of many of these papers. A great kit so hop over and check it out.

It's Monday, Monday a PTI MIM.
This morning before even seeing the video I was sure I was going to make a pink card in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. I thought I would make a birthday card but then I do have this great stamps and I couldn't resists. The challenge this week was to glitter up a tab for the project. Easy peasey with some Scor tape. The paper is from my stash. The stamps and die cuts are from PTI except for the frame die cut. And as always the twine and seam binding are from http://www.etsy.com/shop/talkingtwineandtrim?ref=si_shop . Enjoy!

It's the 25th
It's the 25th so the day that my blog always get some love and some color. I love the PTI blog challenge and I played along and made 3 projects so I will be posting these throughout the week. First the challenge was to "wrap it up". A perfect challenge to use items from talkingtwineandtrim@etsy.com and Papertrey ink. So here is the inspiration:
Here is my project. I used a little treat bag from Talking Twine and Trim and cute a window in the front using the PTI seed die cut. Then used a sheet of acetate inside the bag for the window. Next I die cut the little felt flowers again with PTI die cuts and felt. Next all flowers need a center so a touch of bling. The surprise sentiment is PTI Movers and Shapers sentiments. The bag is closed with a bit of washi tape. Inside the bag is a seed packet of bush beans a great little gift for one of my gardening friends and ready for a birthday.

MIM Sunflowers Mirror image
This card uses some hand scrunched seam binding from the shop that I love, this is dusty olive. I did this for Make it Monday challenge (MIM). This is the first that I have played with the Sunflower stamp and I need to work on centering the center but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the stamp. The technique was to mirror image a sentiment. It worked but it isn't as clean looking as I like but I tried it and glad I did.
Back tomorrow with a bag.

Hmmmm something cold to drink
Check out that pretty jar of pink lemonade. Don't you want to grab a straw and just sip away. What you don't have striped straws in your pantry. Well check out the etsy shop talkingtwineandtrim@etsy.com and find straws in lots of colors to match up with the twine.

Two wins??? It'll never happen
Well again I played along with PTI and this time it is for the fabric challenge. I had this pretty violet fabric scrap sitting in a basket and then there was the apron template why not just marry them up. Next came the cute little buttons that will be in the shop next week. More PTI stuff die cuts and the sentiment. What a fun challenge this week.

A bit of burlap in my life
It's PTI blog hop time and it's a good thing that I like to play along as otherwise this little blog won't get any love. It was so easy to want to play along this month. The colors, the texture just call to my soul. I love the look, feel and excitement fall brings. Here is AZ we still have a good month of 100 plus temps.
Enough said here is the inspiration photos from PTI. The challenge
was the colors and to use texture. So off I went to get some burlap as I
wanted to add a bit to my project. I love the look of layered
flowers and what better place for some burlap and felt. Of course there
is loads of PTI goodness. The die cuts, the sentiment, the felt and a
first for me some PTI card stock. Love the smokey grey.
Thanks for looking.

PTI Stamping A Faire
Then the challenge was all about ribbon. I have never used this technique and I think I might use it again. The stamp and die cut are PTI. So happy with this little card.
Wednesday, July 4, 2012
Just a few things to share. The first is for my shop Talking Twine and trim. I love the denim and Maraschino tied together. The envelope filled with stars that need to escape.
Next is the MIM for Papertrey Ink. The challenge this week was to stamp on pattern paper. I am so happy with this card as the card back as been sitting in my scraps forever and then I "married up the stamped image and the roses. A very lovely card that won't go through the mail but will find a home sometime this month.
Thanks for looking.

A few other things going on in my life other than twine
My wonderful hubbie put in raised planter beds last year and we are having a great time with them. Here is the bounty from Friday morning.
Also I have been knitting like crazy as there is one baby early and one coming soon with two baby showers happening at the same time. I had this crazy idea that I would knit baby hats for the next few friends who have babies coming into this world.

Oh my, Oh my where have I been?
The answer to that question is a lot of different places. I somehow survived May and really enjoyed it. Now it is June and again I see short road trips ahead of me. But in the meantime I had to play along with the Papertrey Ink's MIM challenge which was filled with many great sketches for cards. This is the one I choose though I will be using them all this summer.

All of the adorable stars and the sentiment are PTI. No die cuts here which is unusual for me. As always the beautiful seam binding can be found at Talking twine and trim @ etsy.
Here is mine for the week. Hope to play next week too.

It's PTI Blog Hop time again
I so love the challenges found on the Papertrey Ink blog. The challenge this time was a tough one for me and it made me think outside the box a bit and but right at the last moment I threw in the pink at the last minute and this card seem to pop finally. The challenge was to use this photo as color and pattern inspiration.
I love chartreuse color, always has been a favorite of mine. Teamed up with black and white pattern is something that I hadn't thought to do before. I love the look. So I dug through the scraps and found a few black and white pattern papers and then put them on a chartreuse background pattern paper. Next is the Papertrey Inks NEW telephone stamp and sentiment. The stamp just didn't pop like I wanted it so here is where the pink popped onto the card. Just a bit. Anyway then I tied off the card with a bit more pink seam binding from talkingtwineandtrim@etsy.com

Twine and seam binding team up with Hello Summer Echo Park Paper
Finally a bit of the twine and seam binding both. I had some fun with the Hello Summer Echo Park paper. The card was fun and easy and is Mango Orange seam binding. I made a slice in the top of the card so that it goes continuous inside the card with I like the bit of ribbon inside. The pencil can is on the scrapbookdoodle.com website with the instructions but I thought I would add them here.
A Perfect little gift to show appreciation to a teach here at the end of the year. Super easy for your kids and you to do.
1. Buy the Hello Summer paper from Scrapbook Doodle.
2. Wait just a short time for the postman to bring that beautiful bright paper to arrive to your door...how easy can it be.
3. Find a empty can of sorts in your panty. This one is a chinese noodle can so not even metal.
4. Cover it with paper from the Hello Summer paper that you buy, card stock, or if metal spray paint. Let your kids spray paint.
5. Drop in some marbles, styrafoam ball, tightly balled newspaper, pinto beans.
6. Decorate your can or let your kids do it. Personalize it.
7. Punch out flower using the Hello Summer pattern paper. I used two different punches so that I had a great little center to my flowers. Or if you have thumb tags use that as your center to the flower and push into the eraser.
6. Buy pencils. Attach flowers with a sewing pin that is cut off.

Touch Twin Challenge 15 In Your Neighborhood
So glad that Betty pointed out this challenge blog to me. Made me color, yep get out the markers and color type challenge. I don't own that many markers so the faithful water color pencils worked. I don't own any Copics so when I looked at Touch Twin Makers made me go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
As always there is a bit of twine or seam binding on my project so check out that little banner.
Be sure and check out the challenge here http://touchtwinchallenges.blogspot.com/. Thanks for dropping by.

Here is the inspiration photo:

Taking care of several things at once. First this is Papertrey Ink's blog hop challenge. The challenge was to use some beautiful bolts of fabric in teals, sky blues, several pinks as inspiration. One of the fabrics was a polka dot too. This is my take on the challenge using several of their products along with bakers twine. Papertrey ink items the two border die cuts, the flower die cut, the Happy Day label and die cut and last the little heart is one of their die cuts too. The bit of bakers twine and seam binding is from my shop.
Every Mother needs a heart felt card this day along with something sweet written inside. So lets tie up something for Mom coming soon.

Make it Monday #62 Layer's upon Layers.
I thought this challenge would be fun and easy. Then I was stumped on what to do. I went back and looked at Betsy's video again and opened up my stamps and this is what I came up with. I am loving stamping my own backgrounds. I used foam and pop dots. I love the label that is double stamped and very easy to hand cut. So which topper do you like best.....seam binding or the twine? Thanks for stopping by.

Easter Week Goodies to share
I am not much into the Easter Bunny. I love the colors of spring, the birds unless they are eating my garden, and dying the eggs. But any holiday is good for chocolate too. I am going to post a new project with either instructions or links for how to's for the things made. Most of my projects use the Belle Blvd paper and stickers found in Scrapbookdoodle.com.
I love these little baskets. Perfect for shower favors, office treats, and table decor. Of course I made them out of Easter paper and with just a touch of twine here and there on them. Instructions to come.

Paper trey ink March blog challenge
I was so excited to see the color challenge this month on Paper trey ink. I LOVE aqua right now and yellow is so bright and springy. So I started off with a baby card for a friend who is expecting a boy. Used the little elephant stamp and put it on the Dots and Stripes Echo Park. Cute as the card is in person I could NOT get a good photo of it. So I just thought I wouldn't play along this month.
Sunday afternoon I thought I have an hour. I ALWAYS need a birthday card. I HAVEN'T played with one of those movers and shaper die cuts yet so. I have the other half of that cute big polka dot paper. So here is the card that came about. Of course I added twine from the shop to it and it is perfect to pull the tag out that on the inside has Frame 1 with the birthday saying. I am LOVING the new die cuts. The centers of the pretty little flowers have stickles.
Thanks for checking it out. And as always if you are in need of twine let me know.

Banners Big and Small
Banners Big and Small need twine. Well that is my opinion but I think they all would look better. How goes your twine use? I find myself using it daily. I tied up some bread I baked in twine, adding it to die cuts and last banners. Love the small banners found on scrapbook pages these days. I hear photographers are going gaga for twine. If you are a photographer and need twine head to the shop and mention this post and the name of your company and a discount is yours. Good until the end of the month.

Zip goes my heart....
Oh I am so bad. I didn't add twine to one of these cards. But the other one has a touch of twine. Some of you may be aware that I do design work for http://www.scrapbookdoodle.com/ and Yvonne asked if I would use the Bo Bunny Crush link and Echo Park Truly Yours paper line. So I made a few cards and a couple of layouts. Great paper for Valentines Day but that day is past and I still have paper so wedding cards and love cards it is.
Also I bought a FANTASTICALLY fun little die cut that has a zip on it. Paper trey ink rocks the die cuts you will find them here http://papertreyink.com/ I was so hooked on this die cut once I saw it and had to make a wedding card out of it for next weekend. Tucked behind the red card stock is the gift card. I started the zip pull just in case the couple is confused and I wanted to show it off too. Enjoy!!!
The second card has just a spot of twine on the bird cage which is a stamped image and is the Bo Bunny stamp that goes with the paper. Again both paper lines have been used. Thanks for stopping by.
